The enormous wide 1-piece mono-bloc bed is made from high-grade pearlite cast iron. The guideways are induction hardened and ground. The heavy-ribbed bed is double walled. This substantially minimizes vibration and improves finishes. The bed is provided with special chutes enabling an easy flow of chips. The bed width is 1020 mm. The use of hardened guideways, high rigidity of bed castings subjected to stress relieving treatment and precise machining ensure a long-life accurate operation of the lathe.
